Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us

Effective date: March 10, 2026 · Last updated: March 10, 2026

Domaintor ("we", "us", or "our") operates domaintor.com, an AI-powered domain name search and generator platform. This policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you access or use our website and related services.

1. Scope

This policy applies to information collected through domaintor.com and related services. It does not apply to third-party websites or domain registrars (such as GoDaddy or Namecheap) that may be linked from our platform. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide: When creating an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you contact us, we collect your message content.

Automatically collected data: When you use our service, we automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, domain search queries, and timestamps.

We do not collect payment information directly — payments are handled by third-party processors under their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and improve the domain search, WHOIS lookup, and AI name generation services; maintain your saved domains list and search history; enforce rate limits and prevent abuse; improve our AI name generator over time; send transactional emails such as password resets; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (for optional features and communications); performance of a contract (to provide account-based features you have requested); our legitimate interests (to improve service quality, ensure security, and prevent fraud); and compliance with legal obligations where applicable.

5. Information Sharing

We share information only in limited circumstances: with the GoDaddy API to perform domain availability and WHOIS lookups; with infrastructure and hosting providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements; when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users; and in connection with a business transfer or acquisition, with prior notice to you. We do not share your information with advertising networks.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies solely for authentication — to keep you logged in while you use the service. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics pixels. You can control cookie settings through your browser; disabling cookies may affect login functionality.

7. Data Retention

Search history is retained for 12 months for Pro users and 30 days for free accounts. Account data (name, email, saved domains) is retained until you delete your account. Domain availability cache data expires automatically within 24 hours. We retain data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including password hashing (bcrypt), HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, and restricted access to production systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and infrastructure providers may be located outside your country of residence. By using our service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred internationally. Where transfers occur, we ensure appropriate protections are in place consistent with applicable data protection laws.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export your saved domains list directly from your dashboard. To request account deletion or a copy of your data, email us at privacy@domaintor.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us at privacy@domaintor.com.

12. Third-Party Links

Our platform contains links to domain registrars and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Clicking a "Register" link will take you to a third-party registrar where their own terms and privacy policy apply.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no universally accepted standard for DNT, we do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice via email or a prominent notice on the site. Your continued use of Domaintor after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

15. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at privacy@domaintor.com. We are committed to resolving any privacy-related issues promptly and transparently.
